Note these days the arrival of two flagship applications in pay version. We'll finally be able to see how users will behave toward "must have" applications they need to pay for. The 2 applications below have both 50 000 and 250 000 downloads and a rate of 9 / 10.
Twidroid Pro 3.99€ (by Zimmermann & Marban)With this pricing the developers may have been too greedy, and the figure of at least 100 sales do not surprise me. Finally I think the light version of twidroid should have less functionality to motivate people to buy the pay, but how users would react if (say) the developers removed the @ and D?
Benefit for developers: 280 €
Wikitude World Browser Prenium 0.99€ (by Mobilizy)Currently sold at least 1,000 copies. I do not think the gains allows Mobilizy to pay back the investment made on the free version.
Earnings for Mobilizy: 700 €
So at the moment, we cannot say that users are ready to pay for such applications. I really doubt the
figure announced by Adsmob of about the 5M$ estimation of the Android Market.
I will try to regularly monitor the sales of these two applications.
